Finally, we offer you another route for the ultimate tour. (The description of the route runs anti-clockwise).
Your journey takes you across to St.Englmar, Schwarzach and Mariaposching to Deggendorf. The prospect of fantastic views of the Bavarian forest in the Danube plain, are a sight for sore eyes at this stage of the tour. From Deggendorf you drive on to Hengersberg and Winzer, towards Vilshofen and Passau. At this stage, you’re almost always driving along side the Danube, with numerous possibilities of letting your soul just fly. Stops in Vilshofen for a walk or a stroll through parts of the old town in Passau are an absolute must. But be careful, you shouldn’t stay too long in one place as time is short. From Passau we travel on further alongside the Danube towards Obernzell und Jochenstein. Here the Danube takes its course through the outskirts of the Bavarian forest and the Mühlviertels, offering a wonderful view for sightseers. Past Gottsdorf, Wegscheid, Thalberg and Breitenberg, our journey continues to Neureichenau, Haidmühle and Phillipsreuth. It could well be, that snow still lies here in April. Here the Bavarian forest can still be enjoyed so intensively. Almost endless forests and sparse settlement are an eye witness of the severe conditions here. From Phillipsreuth we carry on towards Freyung, to Grafenau. A short rest in Grafenau is always recommendable. The spa gardens with small lakes and the historical town place with watering wells, provide a little relaxation. The way back past Schönberg, Kirchdorf i. Wald and Regen to Viechtach and finally Kollnburg is an easy relaxing final stage. |
